THE DJ PERSPECTIVE
The DJ Perspective puts you behind the decks and takes you inside the DJ profession. It will make you experience the thrill of the craft and discover the secrets of succesfull DJ’s, offering reflection as individual and as a company on authenticity, communication, quality and branding.
MISSION AND GOAL
If you want to encourage your team to express themselves as individuals and increase teamspirit, music is a great tool. Music makes people open up more than words. It is this energy we use to inspire reflection in a positive atmosphere. Reflection on what makes you stand out in how you do what you do, as individual and as a company. How you communicate your unique identity, and how you brand yourself and your company in a world that demands a more personal approach.
CONTENT
What to expect
INTRODUCTION
Starting of in a relaxed club vibe having a drink, we will start with introducing our drive and mission, and how we coach our (1000+ per year) students turning their passion into their profession, growing into succesful DJ/producers with an authentic sound.
THE DJ WORKSHOP
In an intimate studio setting you will work in small groups and a coach building a mixset learning what track to play when and how. Experience the thrill of mixing records, and prepare for your first performance in front of a live crowd of colleagues expressing yourself in a whole new way.
THE BIG FOUR
What are key factors in becoming a succesfull DJ? Using our BIG FOUR, together we will reflect on your authentic qualities, communication with your audience, presentation and branding, discovering and empowering your unique ‘how’ from a DJ point of view.
FINAL PRESENTATION
To end the workshop with a bang, all groups will present their mix live, resulting into a party vibe in which contenders will lose themselves in their performances, showing a unique side of themselves. The result can be recorded and shared with you as a lasting reminder of a great day.

Your hosts are Olivier & Roeland, CEO’s of DJ School Amsterdam assisted by our DJ coaches. The DJ coaches that will guide you during the workshop can be found here. Our location is well suited to host a daypart, we have a lounge, bar and conference rooms for presentations.

We like to meet up in person with you in advance to get to know you, your teams goals and focus. We shape the BIG FOUR content based on your input, adapt timing to group size and location in order to achieve maximum positive and inspirational impact on the participants.

The content of the DJ EXPERIENCE is based on our BIG FOUR STRATEGY which is the cornerstone of our curriculum coaching 1300 + students per year towards a career as professional DJ/producers

Authenticity
Developing a unique sound is essential to the succes of a DJ. How can you link your personality to developing your authentic style and identity? How do we train DJ’s to discover their own sound? What is your message, what is your signature style? Who should be your audience? What is it that sets you apart in the way you do what you do?
TIMING
Communication
For a DJ Timing is everything. His succes in DJing depends heavily on how he tunes into his audience. A DJ is a social observer. We will talk about the DJ School Amsterdam Dancefloor matrix to explain on what levels DJ’s work on ‘customer centricity’ building a trustbond with their audience. how do you listen to your customers, or colleagues needs to have maximum impact?
MIXING
Quality
Mixing tracks is what a DJ actually does on stage. The technical skill level of a DJ has a big impact on how well a DJ set is received by the audience. Experience how quickly you can learn the essential skills of the practical part of DJing during the workshop. How unique is the quality of your skills/product? What sets you apart from the competition?

Branding
Essential to the succes of a dj is expression and entrepreneurship. How do DJ’s lead and engage with a crowd in live performances, how do they energize their fans? networking and branding yourself as DJ with original content in a modern personal way using social media is a must. How do you brand yourself in a unique way using the new media?
