DJ School Amsterdams Mylow wins Vinylized 2018
With the track ‘Untroubled’, our student Mylow won this years highly acclaimed Vinylized contest for upcoming dance producers.
We are extremely proud of Mylow (Milo Tomasovic) who gave his producer skills a big boost at our School in 2016. Coached by our teacher Daan van de Pol, he managed to increase on a composing and technical level.
He got his award during Amsterdam Dance Event and was praised for his ‘powerful buildup, great production and catching melodies’. The track has ‘a very own sound and theme’, so the jury said. In the clip above you hear snippest of the soon to be released song.

Here is the press release from Amsterdam Dance Event about Mylows win:
Mylow is the winner of the fourteenth edition of the producers contest Vinylized with the track ‘Untroubled’. The five finalists of the contest were LAu, Smeek, Mylow, Cool Tiger and Meraki.
After recent updates about the new number one in the DJ Mag Top 100 and the winner of the Companies to Watch competition, we focus on another contest winner as Mylow came out on top as the winner of Vinylized 2018.
Vinylized, organised in collaboration with the GRAP foundation, is the fourteenth edition of the annual contest which gives dance producers an opportunity to present themselves to the music industry, the press and the public.
The competition has had winners and participants like Nicky Elisabeth, Arjuna Schiks, David Granaada, S.K.Y., Olaf Stuut, Knarsetand, Quentin van Honk, Daniel Zuur, Nymfo, Bakermat and Tim Wolff. GRAP’s objective is to stimulate Amsterdam pop music and culture, and to contribute to the development of Amsterdam’s musical talent.
The jury consists of twenty-three judges: Rolf Volkert (Anna Agency), Rogier van Twuijver (Modern Day Composers), Esther van der Poel (PACCT), Iason Chronis (Mason), Sjam Sjamsoedin, Pim Mulders, Olivier Weiter, Marco Muhring (Friendly Fire), Coen Tegelberg (Cloud 9), Axel van der Lugt (Sugar Factory), Edwin Mulder (Topbillin’), Chris Walraven (3voor12), Estroe (Estroe Advice/Rosedale Records), Adriaan Muts (Full Spectrum), Elvin Usidame (Paradiso), Tom van Wijk (ID&T), Ivo Adelaar (Revealed Recordings), Martijn Kouween (Revealed Recordings), Ruud Lekx (Rude66, Interface), Nicky Elisabeth (winner Vinylized 2017), Hubrecht Kirchner, Tunnelvisions and VNTM.
The XDJ-RR is the little brother of the Pioneer XDJ-RX2, which has been a breakthrough due to it’s price and the abillity to play with a stand-alone set and Rekordbox from an early stage. In fact, both the RX2 and the RR offer the exact essentials that DJ’s use on the expensive CDJ-2000-setup.
The XDJ-RX2 is more expensive (see it HERE), at around 1600 euros.
With each of these sets, you are free from using your computer. It’s just you and your set with your RekordBox-prepped USB-stick.
That is why we recommend many DJ’s to choose for a stand-alone set instead of a much cheaper controller like the DDJ-400. It prepairs you for the more professional gear in the future. Even on small parties or at various non club occasions it is really handy to bring your own portable gear.
We provide lessons on both the units as well, look for more on our course page!
Also, we advice to spend more time in building a proper music collection, rather than spinning records all the time. The musical aspect is much more important than learning the skills, in the beginning.
So as can download the free version of Rekordbox and use it for these sets, you can go downloading and start organising your music right away! You can make CUE-points in your tracks and set markers, in order to know your intro’s before you spin them! This is what we advise to do befor you hit ANY button!
We get all our gear at Tonecontrol.nl and we have a discount for our students at this store. See THIS PAGE for more on each of these players at Tonecontrol!he BIG FOUR DJ has been developed by us based on years of professional experience of our coaches and colleague DJ’s, combined with the input of our students on the question: What are the quality’s of top DJ’s?
