As a starting DJ, would you spend either 1100 or 1600 euros for a stand-alone set?
The XDJ-RR is the little brother of the Pioneer XDJ-RX2, which has been a breakthrough due to it’s price and the abillity to play with a stand-alone set and Rekordbox from an early stage. In fact, both the RX2 and the RR offer the exact essentials that DJ’s use on the expensive CDJ-2000-setup.
The XDJ-RX2 is more expensive (see it HERE), at around 1600 euros.
With each of these sets, you are free from using your computer. It’s just you and your set with your RekordBox-prepped USB-stick.
That is why we recommend many DJ’s to choose for a stand-alone set instead of a much cheaper controller like the DDJ-400. It prepairs you for the more professional gear in the future. Even on small parties or at various non club occasions it is really handy to bring your own portable gear.
We provide lessons on both the units as well, look for more on our course page!
Also, we advice to spend more time in building a proper music collection, rather than spinning records all the time. The musical aspect is much more important than learning the skills, in the beginning.
So as can download the free version of Rekordbox and use it for these sets, you can go downloading and start organising your music right away! You can make CUE-points in your tracks and set markers, in order to know your intro’s before you spin them! This is what we advise to do befor you hit ANY button!
We get all our gear at Tonecontrol.nl and we have a discount for our students at this store. See THIS PAGE for more on each of these players at Tonecontrol!
